Keeping Teeth Healthy

What's the difference between "baby" teeth and permanent teeth? At between six and ten months of age, most infants begin to get their "baby" teeth.

The Central Incisors (front middle teeth) usually come in first, and then teeth begin appearing on either side and work their way back to the second molars. By the time a child has reached three years old, most of the "baby" teeth should be present.

The process begins to repeat itself when the child is about seven years old. The Central Incisors fall out first and are replaced by permanent teeth. By the age
of 21, most people have all of their permanent teeth.

Proper dental care begins even before a baby's first tooth appears. Remember that just because you can't see the teeth doesn't mean they aren't there. Teeth actually begin to form in the second trimester of pregnancy. At birth your baby has 20 primary teeth, some of which are fully developed in the jaw.

Running a damp washcloth over your baby's gums following feedings can prevent buildup of damaging bacteria. Once your child has a few teeth showing, you can brush them with a soft child's toothbrush or rub them with gauze at the end of the day.

Even babies can have problems with dental decay when parents do not practice good feeding habits at home. Putting your baby to sleep with a bottle in his or her mouth may be convenient in the short term — but it can harm the baby's teeth. When the sugars from juice or milk remain on a baby's teeth for hours, they may eat away at the enamel, creating a condition known as bottle mouth. Pocked, pitted, or discolored front teeth are signs of bottle mouth. Severe cases result in cavities and the need to pull all the front teeth until the permanent ones grow in.

Birman

The history of the Birman cat is steeped in mystery. According to legend, the people of Asia built a temple to worship a golden goddess with sapphire-blue eyes. A priest often knelt in meditation with a white temple cat. One night the temple was attacked at the priest killed. As the priest died, the cat placed his feet upon the priest and faced the golden goddess.
http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/community/catbreeds

The Birman has an easy care angora coat which requires little grooming. The fur is long and silky and has no undercoat so does not knot or tangle. Regular weekly grooming with a brush is all that is required for most of the year although your cat will enjoy it if you decide to groom more regularly. The coat is inclined to change during the hot months and at that time daily grooming may be desirable to remove surplus dead hair. Like other breeds your Birman can be bathed occasionally if desired. Scratching carpet covered posts help to keep nails short.

How to cure my cat's skin irritation

i took ma cat puss to the vet last sat for her earmites prob, they gave her a shot and sum tresaderm droppers .it's been a few days and looks like she's still havin' itch and irritation.she's been scratchin' the area 'round her face and it looks all red inside. i'm really worried .what else i can do to relieve her from all these?

______

If you look in your cats ear, you will probably see black specs and "dirt". (its actually droppings from the mites) Every cat I have treated for ear mites gets special ear drops, and the ears need to be cleaned out with medical swabs (or Q-tips) and a cleaning solution. Please don't clean them yourself if you've never done it before, ask the vet to show you how so you don't damage the cat's ear. Face itchiness sounds like an allergic reaction, possibly to the injection he gave her. But, if its just the ears that are itchy, that's because they need to be cleaned. - http://catlifespan.blinkblogs.com/22172/cat+pregnancy.html

When I worked at the humane society, the cats with ear mites actually loved getting their ears cleaned (something they usually hate during check ups) because they itch so bad. Also, when you give the cat ear drops, the first thing they want to do is shake their head. Make sure to hold their head still for 3-5 seconds after putting the drop in so the cat doesn't immediately shake the medicine out. - http://universal-search.com/web/cat%20diseases/page2

HEPATIC LIPIDOSIS

HEPATIC LIPIDOSIS: This dangerous and challenging disorder is a somewhat mysterious malady in which the liver becomes infiltrated with fat deposits. Crowding out the normal liver cells, fatty infiltrations cause the liver to swell and take on a dark yellow color. Hepatic Lipidosis is the most common form of liver disease in cats in North America. Cats that are obese appear to develop this disease most frequently. If an obese cat stops eating for any reason, (stressful environment, boarding, lost in the woods, viral infections) the metabolism of body fat for energy begins. For unknown reasons, this "fasting" can trigger the abnormal fatty infiltration in the liver and a downward spiral of loss of appetite-fatty infiltration of the liver progresses. As liver dysfunction proceeds, the cat becomes less and less energetic, develops a jaundiced (yellow) color to the skin and mucous membranes and the whites of the eyes become yellow. Almost all cats with Hepatic Lipidosis will eventually die of malnutrition because they steadfastly refuse to eat ... and the key to recovery is to eat a high quality diet. Veterinary treatment is required to save these cats and a stomach tube often will be needed in order to force the intake of high quality, easily digestible food

Choosing a Pet Food

When choosing a pet food, there are several factors that need to be kept in mind: palatability, digestibility, suitability for medical conditions, and cost. Lifestyle feeding is important to meet the nutrient requirement of different age groups, and diets are available for puppies/kittens, adults, and geriatrics.

Other factors that may be important to some people include whether or not the food is “natural” or “organic”. One must keep in mind that a term such as “natural” is not legally defined or regulated, and as a result is open to interpretation.

Palatability

Taste is perhaps one of the most important aspects of a pet food. Kibble that is not appealing and tasty to a pet will not be eaten readily. Palatability is a result of the combination of smell, taste, and texture of the food. For example, dogs generally prefer moist food over dry food because the increased water content makes it more appetizing. Pets generally prefer their food served at body temperature, which is normally not necessary, but may be of great assistance in getting an animal that is ill and not interested in food, to eat.

Digestibility

After ingested, food is digested (broken down by enzymes) into nutrients that can be taken up into circulation and distributed around the body, for use as energy and to build organs. Commercial diets can vary greatly in digestibility based on the ingredients used and how they are processed. An estimation of digestibility can be made by measuring the difference between the amount of nutrients in the food and the amount in the feces. Higher digestibility of the food means more energy and nutrients to the body, therefore, resulting in more efficient feeding (decreased feeding costs) and less feces. Furthermore, digestibility can be affected by the physiology of the animal. For example, large and giant breed dogs have an increased gastrointestinal transit time, and can benefit from highly digestible foods.

Diets for Medical Conditions

Feeding a specially formulated diet for a medical condition will not cure the disease, but may slow down the progression or minimize the clinical signs of the illness. Most of these foods are available only from a veterinarian and require a prescription. They are specially formulated to meet the needs of the animal’s specific medical conditions and have also gone through extensive palatability and digestibility trials. For example, a dog with heart failure can benefit from a diet lower in salt, reducing the amount of fluid that can pool in the lungs. A dog with kidney impairment or failure requires a lower protein diet to keep clinical signs under control. There are also diets formulated for common problems, such as obesity, diabetes in cats, gastrointestinal problems, food allergies, constipation, joint disease, dental health maintenance, and many more. It is best to consult your veterinarian about these diets as he or she represents your expert source on feeding.

Cost

The cost of food is perhaps one of the greatest driving factors in choosing one diet over another. Feeding a dog can be an expensive endeavor, especially for owners of large and giant breed dogs. In general, there are four categories of diets: the generic grocery store brand, the premium pet store brand, the veterinary products recommended for pets with specific medical issues and the top of the line holistic foods. Of course, as quality of the food increases, so does the price. However, even though the net price of a bag of high quality food may be more, the actual cost of feeding your animal may not be excessively increased. Consider a bag of food purchased at a grocery store: A 9kg bag sells for $25.00. This will feed at 20kg dog for 40 days (if fed according to label directions), working out to a feeding cost of $0.62 a day. On the other hand, an 18kg bag of your highest-quality veterinary exclusive maintenance diet sells for $60.00. When fed to a 20kg dog the bag will last for 81 days (according to label directions), resulting in a feeding cost of $0.74 a day! This small difference in price is almost negligible when considering the benefits of a diet much higher in quality. Furthermore, premium diets are superior because the ingredients used are consistent, and do not depend on which ingredients are cheaper at the time of manufacture. You can be certain that your animal is receiving consistent, high-quality ingredients.

Pet Rabbit Breeds

There are pet rabbits as big as spaniels and as small as guinea pigs. In between, there are pet rabbits of every size, shape and color - more than 50 domestic breeds from which to choose your pet. If this figure overwhelms you, find out from a pet shop or breeder the best breed for you. Although it is not possible to present here every pet rabbit breed that is available, the following descriptions give the reader a thorough overview of some of the types of rabbit that are available to the hobbyist. http://www.propeller.com/story/2009/02/15/dog-breeds

Dutch Pet Rabbit Breed

This rabbit is colored similarly fore and aft, with a broad band of white around the front part of its body up to the head. A small-to-medium character with a charming disposition, it comes in a variety of attractive colors. It is no wonder that it has become popular as a pet.

Polish Pet Rabbit Breed

This is the original dwarf rabbit, a small, lean individual weighing no more than 0.9kg. It is the same size as the more common Netherlands Dwarf, but the complete opposite in body shape, having a log, graceful body and a racy, alert appearance. The most usual variety is the red-eyed white, although many other colors exist, such as black, blue, smoke and sable. The fur of the Polish is very short and shiny, as though it has been polished - hence the name (although 'Polish' is pronounced as if it was derived from Poland). Unfortunately the Polish has a reputation for being bad tempered and is therefore not a pet for the novice.

Teeth Whitening Tips

Many individuals lack self-esteem because their smile is not as white and bright as they would like. Most of these individuals are interested in various methods that they can use in order to succeed in teeth whitening at home. Here, you will be introduced to a number of "at home" teeth whitening tips that is sure to provide you with that bright, white smile that you have been longing to achieve.

One of the first teeth whitening tips includes the use of a little table salt and lemon juice. Many individuals have found that by mixing these two effective cleaning solutions, and then applying them to the teeth, that they are cleaned relatively well. This is an easy and effective method of ensuring that teeth are cleaned appropriately. Furthermore, it is safe and it costs very little. For just about $3.00 you can create an at home teeth whitening mixture that you can use for months to come!

One of the oldest remedies when it comes to home teeth whitening, yet one of the most effective, is the implementation of baking soda. Many individuals live by this solution. You simply take a bit of baking soda, place it in a container, and then add just enough water to make a paste-like solution. Once the right consistency is established, you will simply place this solution on your toothbrush and brush your teeth as you would if you were using toothpaste. Many individuals find that this teeth whitening remedy is most effective if a store bought pre-rinse solution is purchased. Many may simply elect to pre-rinse using a solution of baking soda and water.

Thomas Alva Edison

Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) was an American inventor (also known as the Wizard of Menlo Park) whose many inventions revolutionized the world. His work includes improving the incandescent electric light bulb and inventing the phonograph, the phonograph record, the telephone transmitter, and the motion-picture projector.

Edison's first job was as a telegraph operator, and in the course of his duties, he redesigned the stock-ticker machine. The Edison Universal Stock Printer gave him the capital ($40,000) to set up a laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey, to invent full-time (with many employees).

Edison experimented with thousands of different light bulb filaments to find just the right materials to glow well, be long-lasting, and be inexpensive. In 1879, Edison discovered that a carbon filament in an oxygen-free bulb glowed but did not burn up for quite a while. This incandescent bulb revolutionized the world.

Edison and General Electric fiercely promoted the use of direct current (Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla developed and promoted the use of the more useful alternating current, which eventually became the standard). Edison also invented the alkaline battery.

In 1887, Edison moved his lab to West Orange, New Jersey, and employed about 5,000 people. Altogether, Edison patented 1,093 inventions. Edison was quoted as saying, "Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration." On October 21, 1931, a few days after Edison's death, electric lights in the United States were dimmed for one minute.

dog's pregnancy

After your beloved dog has been matched with a handsome stud and successfully bred, the 63 day countdown has begun. A mix of emotions pour over you, of course, lots of excitement but also bits of anxiety as this is the first dog you own to be expecting puppies. As a new owner of an expecting "doggie mom" there are lots of things to know and it is normal to feel slightly overwhelmed at first, but take a deep breath and relax as things will very likely go pretty smoothly as nature will take its course.

There are a few things though, that as an owner you must be aware of, mostly in order to not be caught unprepared or get hit by bouts of anxiety if you encounter situations you were not really prepared for. Below are some bits of information that may help you go through the whole 63 days without worrying excessively.

Persian cat

A show-quality Persian has an extremely long thick coat, short legs, a wide head with the ears set far apart, large eyes, and an extremely foreshortened muzzle. Due to their 'squashed' faces, it is not uncommon for persians to have moderate discharge from their tear ducts. This is easily cleaned, and a persian's eyes should be maintained consistently by its owner. The breed was originally established with a short (but not non-existent) muzzle, but over time this feature has become extremely exaggerated, particularly in North America
http://www.wikidweb.com/wiki/Catwebsite.googlepages.com
The 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica (Encyclopædia) suggested that the Persian is derived from the Pallas Cat, a belief prevalent at the time. A photograph accompanying the entry in the Encyclopædia shows a Blue Persian Cat, the conformation of which we would now call a "Doll Faced Persian" or "Traditional Persian". Early photographs and drawings from magazines show the Persian as a Traditional Persian Cat. The Persian was first registered with the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) in 1871 when the association first kept records.

Photographic records indicate that Persians, up until the 1960s, show a difference in appearance to cats of the early 1980s onwards (i.e., from the Traditional "doll face" to the "extreme", "ultra", "flat-faced" or "snubby" face of today). However, the Persian Breed Council's standard [5] for the Persian had remained basically unchanged over this period. The Persian Breed Standard is by its nature somewhat open ended and focused on a rounded head, large, wide-spaced round eyes with the top of the nose leather placed no lower than the bottom of the eyes. They are a medium sized cat and the standard calls for a short, cobby body with short, well boned legs, a broad chest, and a round appearance. Everything about the ideal persian cat is round.
http://www.wikidweb.com/wiki/Types-dog.blogspot.com
It is generally accepted (and by the Breed Council) that through selective breeding, in an attempt to develop the ideal Persian appearance, the Ultra Face came about [6]. This has been called ultra-typing [7]. The Persian Breed Council's standard was changed during the late 1980s to limit the development of the extreme appearance. In 2007 the Persian Breed Standard was altered to reflect the flat face and it now states that the forehead, nose, and chin should be in vertical alignment.

Symptoms Of Sick Dog

How can we help our dog by ourselves ?
This is a situation I have personnally faced last year, and I ended up looking sur support online. I had to find a way to help my cat ( which is a like a child to my girlfriend ) and I really didn't have enough money to pay the vet. so I searched the Internet and found a book.

Out of the thousands of book out there, I don't know how I managed to find this one, but THIS is what I was looking for ! A guide showing me exactly what to do.

On the other hand there are ways in which you can ease the suffering a bit for your dog and help them get the fast paced recovery they deserve. There are probably many different home remedies for helping you dog get better, but often if any are going to work then it will be the suggestions or medication your vet will give your after a diagnosis of your dog, so when you fear your dog is ill you should take them to the vet as soon as possible.

Ok, so let’s now look at some of the more popular of the hundreds of symptoms that your dog may be feeling. http://knol.google.com/k/eran-li/dog-and-puppy-names/vfep6zz4iz7s/1

Dog Pregnancy Symptoms

Let’s start with the canine heat cycle. The canine heat or estrous cycle varies in length. Many people know that their dog goes into "heat" but don’t realize that unlike the human menstrual cycle, which is a non-fertile stage, dogs that are in heat are preparing to ovulate. There are four stages of the estrous cycle. The first stage is proestrus, which is characterized by increased follicular activity of the ovary, a stage that is necessary prior to the release of the eggs. Outward signs include vulvar swelling and bleeding. During this time, your dog will be attractive to males but not receptive to them. In general, this stage lasts six to 11 days with an average of nine days. The end of this cycle is noted when your pet becomes receptive to the male and will stand to be bred. http://postonfire.com/Pets/types_of_dogs

The second phase is the actual fertile phase or estrus. During this time, the discharge becomes more straw-colored to light pink and the vulva, although still swollen, is softer. The female is now receptive to males and will stand for breeding. This stage generally lasts five to nine days. Unfortunately, it can last as long as 20 days and still be normal. Each dog is different and must be monitored closely. The end of this stage is characterized by the female no longer accepting the male.

The last two stages of the estrous cycle are diestrus, a non-receptive time when the corpora lutea, which produce progesterone, are active on the ovary and anestrus. During anestrus there is no ovarian activity. Diestrus and anestrus are lengthy periods: diestrus lasts 56 to 60 days and anestrus is variable, but several months long. Most dogs cycle twice a year.

The next step in the course of the pregnancy is the actual conception…well, I hope you know how that works, so I’ll skip that part. It takes about 62 days from the day that your dog is bred for the puppies to be born.

If you are told the dog is not pregnant, don’t give up all hope.

It is still a good possibility she is and the doctor just didn’t do the palpation at the correct time.

At a later date, the doctor can do an x-ray to look for skeletons.

This is an excellent method for it gives you a definite answer as to if you have a pregnant dog and it also can tell you how many puppies there are.

This is useful information when the mother decides to give birth in the middle of the night.

Plan on feeding a good quality puppy food from the time of breeding. This will insure the proper nutrients and minerals are available for the healthy development of the puppies.

common dog disease

Dog DiseasesDogs can fall foul of diseases just like humans. Depending on the species and individual dog, he or she may be more or less prone to different forms of canine diseases. This Dogs.co.uk guide covers the most common dog diseases, how to spot them and how to treat them.

How can I tell when my dog is feeling sick?
Dogs who are sick are generally obvious. One easy way to spot if your dog is sick at all is to watch him or her eat and exercise. A sick dog will be listless or show very reluctant enthusiasm. If your dog eats without any lustre, it is possible that he or she has become ill. Other symptoms of sickness include pale gums and a whiter than usual tongue, duller than standard eyes, and a dry coat. Sick dogs also often suffer from a fever.

How can I check the temperature and pulse of my dog?
The standard method for measuring a dog's temperature is a rectal thermometer. The normal body temperature of a dog is 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit. You can check how fast your dog's heart is beating by pressing your finger firmly against the joint between the hindquarters of the dog, on the underside. The average pulse rate of a healthy dog is between 75 and 100 beats per minute.

toothache

Causes of toothache -

1. Temperature Sensitivity - This is one of the most common causes, in which any contact to very hot or very cold temperature suddenly causes sensitivity to the tooth and causes pain. This is more prominent when the tooth surface has been worn out earlier and the dentin part of the tooth is exposed directly to the extreme temperatures and the dentinal tubules show the maximum sensitivity. http://www.wikihow.com/User:Puppy-names
2. Dental decay or caries - Caused due to plaque formation consisting of microorganisms which slowly decays the tooth and cause pain.
3. Fracture of the tooth - This may be caused due to any accident, or improper contact of teeth within food in between and the masticatory forces being higher.
4. Cracked tooth - As the color directly hit to tooth is reflected, identifying a crack on the tooth is not easy but still this is one of the reasons for tooth pain.
5. Pulpal irritation - This can happen after any dental treatment. This can happen only if the tooth does not accept the material used for the treatment or for the filling. During this, there is some inflammatory response produced by the pulp and this leads to dental pain.
6. Improper Diet - The salivary production, the gastric production are all controlled by a biological cycle in our body and the saliva with maximum enzymes is secreted in a timely manner. So proper diet and time should be maintained, or else the infection of microorganisms become more evolved and can cause tooth pain. http://users.search-o-rama.com/Author146386.htm
7. Sugary diet - Diet containing sugary food is full of carbohydrates which are always regarded as the house for microorganisms. In a sugary environment, the bacteria grow rapidly and cause the decay and pain of the tooth.
8. Gum disease - Gum diseases like Gingivitis are one of the factors that cause the tooth pain.
9. Other than mouth - Rarely, some conditions like sinusitis, or an ear infection can also indirectly lead to tooth pain. http://wiki.name.com/en/Msary80

toothache

Under certain circumstances, a direct correlation can exist between a sinus infection and a toothache. A sinus infection might be caused by an allergic reaction, an anatomical obstruction in the nasal passage, another bodily infection (like a respiratory infection) or — and here’s where tooth pain comes in — an infected maxillary tooth. In fact, a person experiencing pain in many or all teeth may have a sinus infection. The face and neck may also contain cutaneous sinus tracts that are sometimes dental in origin.

Studies have indicated that in many cases, a correlation exists between sinus infections and caries (cavities), impacted wisdom teeth, incomplete dental work and tooth or crown fracture.

Additionally, untreated sinus infections may make it difficult to maintain dental hygiene. Sinus infections may be the culprit in cases of bad breath (also known as halitosis), as sinus drainage falls into the mouth. http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1uo06-tooth-pain

health

Mental health refers to an individual's emotional and psychological well-being. "A state of emotional and psychological well-being in which an individual is able to use his or her cognitive and emotional capabilities, function in society, and meet the ordinary demands of everyday life."

One way to think about mental health is by looking at how effectively and successfully a person functions. Feeling capable and competent; being able to handle normal levels of stress, maintain satisfying relationships, and lead an independent life; and being able to "bounce back," or recover from difficult situations, are all signs of mental health. The generally accepted definition of health is "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity", used by the World Health Organization (WHO) since 1948. [1][2]

In 1986, the WHO in the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion said health is "a resource for everyday life, not the objective of living. Health is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources, as well as physical capacities". Classification systems such as the WHO Family of International Classifications (WHO-FIC), which is composed of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) also define health.

Overall health is achieved through a combination of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being

dog health

The domestic dog's health is possibly one of the best-studied areas in veterinary medicine, since the dog has had such a long and close relationship with humans. Infectious diseases are prevalent in dogs and are important not just from a veterinary standpoint but also because of the risk to public health. The most wellknown example of this is rabies. Genetic diseases are common in dogs due to the selective breeding necessary to produce individual dog breeds. Due to the popularity of both commercial and homemade dog foods, nutrition is also a heavily studied subject.

Devon Rex Cat

The curl in Devon Rex fur is caused by a different mutation and gene than that of the Cornish Rex and German Rex, and breeding of a Devon with either of those cats results in cats without rexed (curled) fur. Devons, which are medium sized cats, are often called "pixie cats" or "alien cats" because of their unique appearance. Their uncommonly large ears are set low on the sides of their wide heads, their eyes are large, and their noses are slightly upturned. Unlike most cats their whiskers are very short and often curled to such an extent that it may appear as if they have no whiskers. Their body type is distinctly lightly-built. Their long, sturdy legs are well suited for long leaps, and their toes are unusually large. Devon Rex cats come in all colours. The ears are large and slightly rounded.

funny cat pictures

Over the years, some of the most popular pages on the Cybersalt site have featured Funny Cat Pictures. We have to admit that even though cats often look at humans like they owe the feline world something (remember dogs have owners and cats have staff), cats aren't as bad as a lot of the press that they get.

And so, whether you are a cat lover or tolerator, we hope you enjoy these funny cat pictures. And, of course, if you have any funny cat pictures you want to share with the world, feel free to send them to us to post here.

liver health

Everything you eat, drink, breathe and absorb through your skin eventually reaches your liver. It controls a process called metabolism, in which your liver breaks down nutrients into usable byproducts. These byproducts are delivered to the rest of your body by your bloodstream. Your liver also breaks down toxins into byproducts that can be safely eliminated.

Your liver is very resilient in the face of liver problems. It can remain functional after losing most of its cells to disease. It can regenerate in a few weeks — even after much of it has been removed during surgery.

But your liver isn't indestructible — liver problems are possible. Excessive alcohol consumption over many years is a leading cause of liver disease. Too much alcohol can make a normal liver swell with fat, causing a condition called fatty liver. If the fat becomes inflamed, it can lead to either alcoholic hepatitis, a liver problem that causes serious but often reversible liver damage, or cirrhosis, which causes irreversible liver damage. Because of extensive scarring, a cirrhotic liver shrinks to a fraction of its normal size.

Kidney

Kidney is located on both sides of the back of the abdomen is the body material body, one of the most important organ, the normal body mainly excluded from the waste and water situation in the event of disease, not only the body could not go out of the waste, but also may make some of the important substances the body must "leak" out, and have a variety of symptoms. Edema is a common symptom of kidney disease, one of a patient when there are sleep skin, facial and lower extremity edema, it is likely that had kidney disease, but when there edema of kidney disease, it is usually in the disease itself has been done for some time ( acute nephritis and acute renal failure, except), the treatment is also more difficult, with renal function tests, they may be abnormal, but not very sensitive in early disease.

Chronic kidney disease including chronic renal failure (long-term progressive deterioration of kidney function), nephrotic syndrome (kidney required a large number of loss of body protein) and chronic nephritis (by bacteria and other reasons) its own problems such as kidney, commonly referred to as the primary renal disease, no different from those from high blood pressure, diabetes and systemic lupus erythematosus and other systemic diseases lead to the renewal of renal disease.

Liver health

Liver pain can be caused by a wide variety of ailments. The pain is felt in the upper-right quadrant, usually underneath the rib cage. Liver pain location may vary slightly, and in some cases can be felt in conjunction with back pain. It can be sharp, but typically is felt as a dull ache.

Liver pain and abdominal pain in general are sometimes confused with each other. For reference purposes on this site, all upper-right abdominal pain is considered as potential liver pain. A doctor or medical professional may be able to determine the difference between particular types of pain in the abdomen, and whether they are related to the liver itself.

choosing pet names

Whatever you choose, you and the dog have to live with for its entire life. This being said, I would recommend avoiding things like "Stinky" or "Drooly." As true as these names may be, your dog has feelings too, and you probably don't really want to introduce a member of your family by saying "...And this is our dog, Fatso..."
http://sites.google.com/site/lilin5000/puppy
Take your time! Get to know the puppy for a couple of days, learn about its personality, and see what fits!
Make it something simple that will easily get your dogs' attention, but not confuse them. Naming your dog a command you are going to be giving them at any point in their life will only confuse them and frustrate you. If you name your puppy something that is easy to say and will quickly gain its attention, it is probably a winner!
Name them something that has meaning to you. Be it after a favorite musician, artist, friend, etc., if it means something to you, it will come to mean something to your puppy.
Learn how to care for and train puppies
Choosing puppy names isn't exactly rocket science, but you don't want to treat the task too lightly either. A bit of thought and patience on your part will help you discover the name your pet was meant to have.

The main thing to remember is to keep the name simple. Dogs respond best to names with no more than three syllables. Anything beyond that takes longer for them to learn and is also a mouthful for you to repeat. http://sites.google.com/site/lilin5000

Given that information, try using these tips for choosing puppy names.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening has been made simple due to the achievement of modern lifestyle. momentarily, it is included in a wide variety of products and not necessarily expensive ones only. Browsing the local drugstore dental hygiene aisle shows tooth paste with whitening, teeth whitening gels and special tooth whitening treatments. All these procedures have varying time periods before a change is seen in tooth appearance. It can range anywhere from14 days to a several months. Of course, this is all over-the-counter treatment and is supposed to be cost efficient, not fast.

When looking for a great tooth whitening experience, talk to your dentist to get some products. There are some highly effective products that a professional can discuss with you and they can help you find the right one for you. If you have the cash, talk to your dentist, otherwise opt for the drugstore.

how to Buy Cat Food

There are many brands of cat food that you can buy, This should be a trial and error. Buy different brands recommended by your veterinarian and for your cat's age. Note that these brands are expensive but will contain the full range of nutrients needed to satisfy your cat. A good compromise is to purchase dry food in this range but to choose supermarket brand wet food. This makes a nice balance without breaking the budget. It is also good to not grow a fussy cat!
Try to get a price is cheap and reasonable for its size. Look for the bargains on larger or smaller sizes and compare to make sure you are getting the best deal.
Feed your cat about 40 pieces (of dry food) in the morning and 30 pieces (of dry food) in the evening. If you can't be bothered counting that, it is about an adult handful. You cat will help you to gauge the amount it needs by displaying signs of overt hunger if you under-do it. Do not overdo it or you well grow a fat and unhealthy cat. Did you just buy a kitten? Maybe you want to add a kitten to your family? Kittens are cute, frisky, playful, and a lot of fun for children and adults, but they are also a lot of responsibility. Your kitten will need twice the nutrients of an adult cat and the best feeding routine is to feed the kitten 4 times a day. Once a kitten turns 3 months old then you can just feed them 3 times a day until they turn 6 months and then you can lower their meals to twice a day.

Ragdoll Cat Guide

Felines are generally quite long-lived, though mileage varies depending on owner maintenance and genetic predisposition. In a handful of documented cases, cats have exceeded 30 years in age. Common Cat Skin Diseases

The cat skin, unlike human, is very tough. Make up of numerous layers of cell tissues and skin structures like the hair follicles, sensory cells, and sebaceous glands, it has very good blood supply and has three main functions - to act as a sensory layer around the entire body, to regulate body temperature and to act as a protective layer covering for the internal structures and organs.

It is important to take note and check up on your cat’s skin regularly because most of the cat breeds’ skin is covered in fur. It is not uncommon for cat owner to discover that their cat has develop some skin diseases until there is hair loss or development of sores.

In order to prevent your cat from developing any serious skin conditions, you can make a little more effort during grooming to check up on your cat’s skin. Run your hand gently over his body and explore the skin for any unusual patches, if you found any, part the fur by brushing it slightly, so that you can see beneath the fur and have a better look at the skin. If you do this often enough and understand your cat’s body, you would be able to spot any irregularity easily.

It is common for cats to develop skin related conditions and illnesses. And listed below are the main one that affect most cat breeds. http://postonfire.com/Pets/types_of_cats

Web 2.0

Suppose you need to create a suitable environment for new Web 2.0 applications. Users enjoy a part of HTML-based user interface, while other users want them to use the performance of each application are as Excel as a desktop application. Your boss has high efficiency requirements of the user experience, but the CIO needs of the user manual does not allow the deployment of the development of anything. Do you know HTML can not achieve this goal, but how to do in order to meet the demands? In this paper, want to discuss a range of Web 2.0 user interface technology, allows you to build applications that better than the browser's user experience. Moreover, can be like any other Java ™ 2 Enterprise Edition (Java EE) applications, like a concentration of them to deploy and manage.
In the user interface context, today's enterprise application developers to users and operators from the dual pressures of department. On the one hand, on behalf of the user's business applications with the Department would like rich user interface, users can maximize productivity. They hope that the performance of all of the applications like Microsoft's Excel or other client application. Hope that the application be able to provide real-time response. In addition, if multiple views of the same data (for example, a table view and a graphical view), then one also hopes to be modified in view, the other view be able to reflect this change immediately.

On the other hand, IT department operators enjoy a purely server-based delivery model. They know that even though the user experience than HTML-based operating system of the machine (OS) of the user interface so strong, but they think in order to improve the user experience, installation, configuration and management of the client code is too expensive.

how to choose pet food

Ensure that meat meal protein sources are high in the ingredient list. The meal is basically the pre-cooked meat, which ensures that it won't reduce down anymore during the cooking process. (It takes 5 pounds of the animal meat to make one pound of the animal meal.) You could look for three of the first five ingredients listed on the label as a form of protein such as chicken meal, lamb meal, venison meal. Although by-products can include chicken beaks, feet, bones, etc., reputable manufacturers will select ingredients processed to remove such indigestible material. However, as per AAFCO, animal by-products MUST contain the animals head, feet, and or intestines. Rarely, you may need to look for foods that exclude corn, cornmeal, and wheat, due to concerns about potential allergens. Although corn is not as digestible as rice and wheat. Grains can be a long-term source of energy and energy storage for dogs, but they can also be used as a cheap filler in order to boost the food's protein percentage. Watch out! Any grain you feed your dog should be used in whole form so that it supplies more fiber, vitamins and minerals. The best grains for dogs (when used in the proper percentages) are rolled oats, barley, quinoa, millet, and brown rice.
http://www.wikihow.com/User:Cat-breeds
Often, low quality dog foods will list a meat ingredient first, which will be followed by several by-products and fillers. In this case, although meat is listed first, there are actually MORE fillers, which changes the ratio noted above.
A well-planned vegetarian diet can work for dogs, although dogs are carnivores by nature. Dogs need animal protein. Would a dog naturally be vegetarian? No. Most veterinarians and holistic practitioners agree that although a dog can survive on a vegetarian diet, they may not thrive on it.
Be aware that while preservatives may be necessary to keep the food edible, preservatives do not have to be artificial chemicals that might be cancer-causing agents. Avoid pet foods that use chemical preservatives BHA, BHT and Ethoxyquin. Vitamin E & vitamin C are great preservatives that are much better for your dog.

Pug Health Problems

The first major source of infection is the dog’s adorable wrinkly skin so a veterinarian should be consulted at the first sign of infection. The folds are highly prone to bacteria infection if any dirt is allowed to build up between them, so regular bathing helps prevent this.

Eyes definitely cause major Pug dog health problems. The design of the Pug’s face means that the eyes are not protected as well as they could be, and are therefore prone to injury, among other problems. Pug owners need to be responsible for making sure their dogs have their eyes examined for inflammation regularly, and taken to the vet if any inflammation occurs.

Another health problem is overeating. Obesity is as detrimental to dogs as it is to humans, so you should definitely make sure your dog’s food intake keeps him at a healthy weight. Shade is essential to any Pug left outside during the summer, as they do not handle heat or humidity well so for this same reason, never leave your Pug (or any dog) in a parked car during the summer. Never leave the breed in high heat for very long, because this will cause the dog to have difficulty in breathing.

Providing good pug dog health isn’t difficult, as all is that is needed is taking proper care of your pet and taking him to the vet when he needs it. These adorable little dogs will provide many years of happiness for the companions that take care of them responsible.

Healthy Pet Food Tips

The list is intended as a starting point for your own research - it is a list we are compiling of pet foods deemed safe by the pet food companies themselves. It is neither an endorsement of any pet foods listed, nor is it a complete list of all pet foods not being recalled. And, even though a brand is listed, we cannot guarantee the food is safe. Therefore, it is your responsibility to verify the safety of the brand you're interested in with the pet food company and/or the FDA. Links to their websites have been provided when possible.

WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT ON THE LIST

The majority of this list is pet foods that have NOT been recalled since the start of the pet food recalls on March 16, 2007. However, because of the many emails we've had asking why recalled foods are not on the list we will now list those brand names as well.

Deciding what to feed your pet isn't easy these days, especially after the FDA's unprecedented pet food recall in 2007 that pulled more than 100 brands off store shelves. The culprit of the contaminated food was wheat gluten poisoned with melamine, a chemical used to make plastics and fertilizers. The tainted food caused kidney failure and other illnesses, and may have killed thousands of pets.

Frightening recalls and poisonings aside, there are plenty of other reasons to be aware of what's in your animal's food. A good diet keeps your pet's coat healthy and keeps his digestive system running smoothly. Also, you pay for what you get: Foods with a lot of fillers are cheaper but less nutritious. Just as with human food, good ingredients will go a long way toward giving your pet a long, healthy life.

Careful
Learn to decipher labels on commercial pet foods. The most important parts of the label are the nutritional adequacy statement and ingredients list. The former tells you whether a food is suitable as the sole nourishment for a healthy pet, as judged by the Association of American Feed Control Officials. The label will specify that the product "provides complete and balanced nutrition." Look for labels that state that the food has been tested using AAFCO procedures. A well-formulated cat or dog food will list chicken, beef, lamb, poultry, or fish meal first (ingredients are listed in order of weight).

Cats are carnivores and dogs are omnivores, so both need their meat. Bonemeal and other meat by-products are poorer sources of protein. Soy, rice, oats, yeast, wheat, corn, and other fillers provide protein but aren't as digestible, so look for foods that list these lower in the ingredients. Manufacturers sometimes try to mask the amount of fillers in pet foods by breaking them into components.

how to choose pet breeds

A dog is a dog is a dog right? If you want a dog, jut get any dog, they are more or less the same? No. Getting a dog as a pet is a long term commitment, depending on the breed a dog can live for 15 years or in some case much longer. With that sort of time commitment to an animal pretty much totally dependant on you, best to get the one that suits you and your family the best. Some things to consider.

- How much room have you got? A big back yard or rural home? Or a small apartment? You must take the exercise needs of your potential pooch before getting a dog. I stress exercise needs, not animal size. There are plenty of small/medium size breeds that need more yard space to run around in, than some of the larger, less active breeds.

How much time have you got? Some breeds are true companion animals, and will fret and cry if left alone at all, let alone for long periods. Others require hours of attention each day. Fine if you work from home, and Fido can sit under your desk, or fine if snookums is a little dog that can come with you in a handbag al la Paris Hilton, but not fine if you are commuting 90 minutes each way per day to get to work, and you neighbors have to listen to your howling dog all day. You will come home to angry neighbors, a distressed dog, who will likely have destroyed your back yard.

Cat Disease Symptom

There are many diseases, which are common to cats. If ignored some of these diseases may turn out to be fatal. But most of these diseases can be prevented by taking care of simple things. Firstly, keep your cat indoors. Secondly, get your cat vaccinated against some common cat diseases.

Some of the common cat diseases are:

Upper respiratory infections (URIs).
URIs are similar to the common cold in humans. Symptoms include sneezing, running nose and eyes, reddened eyes, fever, and decreased appetite. If left untreated URIs can be fatal. These airborne viruses are highly contagious; they can be transmitted to cats through human handling and through contact with other cats and with inanimate objects such as litter boxes, food bowls, and grooming tools. http://www.wikidweb.com/wiki/Catwebsite.org

Separate any new cat from your other cats for at least three weeks until you are sure that the newcomer doesn't have any symptoms of a URI.

Prevention is the best approach to URIs. Get your cat vaccinated. But if your cat exhibits URI symptoms contact your veterinarian immediately. The veterinarian will probably prescribe a dosage of antibiotics to prevent secondary infections and give you precise care instructions. Follow them carefully and make sure your cat eats and drinks sufficiently.

Rabies
Rabies is a fatal and one of the more common cat diseases. It is a viral illness that is transmitted through bite wounds from infected animals and attacks the nervous system. Prevent rabies through vaccination and by keeping your cat indoors.

How to Choose the Best Dog Breed

Since the first man started to arrange dog breeding, humans have been gradually creating the most diverse species in the world: Canis familiaris, the domestic dog.

Not long after that the idea of a dog breed must have arisen.

A dog breed is a group of dogs that have very similar or nearly identical characteristics of appearance or behavior or, usually, both, primarily because they come from a select set of ancestors who had the same characteristics. http://www.wikidweb.com/wiki/Dogbreedss.org

Don’t let your puppy become a statistic. Make it your goal to choose a puppy suited to your family and circumstances. Think about your previous experience of owning a dog and the amount of time you have for training, grooming and exercising. Look at your health including possible allergies, your financial resources and the amount of space in your house and yard. Most of all work out how much time you have for a dog.

Of all the different factors in choosing a the right dog breed, among the most important is the relationship you want with your dog. Some breeds by nature are rather aloof and elegant, others are independent and energetic while others are dependent or submissive. If you want to do specialized training, consider breeds known for courage and trainability. If you want an affectionate pet, choose a breed that typically likes to be close to its people.

What is toothache

What is toothache ?
Toothache is a painful condition in your jaw and facial area. It usually occurs when a nerve in the tooth root is inflamed or irritated. It could also occur because of tooth decay, infection or even tooth loss.
Types of toothache
Everybody doesn’t experience the same kind of toothache, and very often a toothache can be a sign of a much deeper condition. The severity of the toothache may also vary, in terms of the sensitivity of the tooth and the pain intensity. No matter what type of toothache you suffer from, you should get it evaluated by a dentist.

Sharp tooth pain or sensitivity
When your teeth become extremely sensitive to cold, causing a sharp pain when you eat or drink very cold items, it could be due to loss of tooth enamel. This deterioration of tooth enamel occurs because of excessive brushing, as a natural part of the aging process, recession of the gums or the deterioration of a tooth cavity. If your teeth are overly sensitive to heat, this could be because of dental cavities, abscesses or a severely decayed tooth.

Chronic toothache
A consistently aching tooth can be the result of nerve damage. The nerves of the tooth may get damaged because of severe dental decay or because of excessive grinding of the teeth. It could also occur because of any kind of injury or trauma to the tooth.

Excruciating pain
Intense, agonizing pain, including a throbbing sensation, is most often because of an abscess or dental infection. Very often, when the pain is this intense, there is also a noticeable swelling in the face.

Pain while eating
If you experience pain while eating, it could be either due to a crack in the tooth or dental decay.

Pain the in back of the jaw
If the pain is mainly concentrated in the back of the jaw, it could be due to impacted back molars. People, who have a habit of grinding their teeth or TMD can also experience jaw pain.

Serious health issues
A little known fact is that a toothache can often be a symptom of serious underlying health problems. Studies have shown that a pain on the left side of the jaw can be the first sign of a heart attack. Your toothache can also be a sign of sinus infection. Inflammation of the jaw, and pain while eating can be one of the earliest symptoms of a maxillofacial condition called temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD).

Buying Gold

Well with the turbulent times of the economy, stock market etc, the only thing that is still pretty safe, and a wise future investment in my opinion is Gold. So i thought id post some tips.

Decide the reasons for buying gold. Are you going to buy gold for an investment or is it for enjoyment? I.E jewelry or collectable item such as coins.

Jewelry is the most readily available form of buyable gold, but has the least liquidity. The resell sale value of gold jewelry will usually never be the same as you paid for it, and your adding the risk to the fold because you aint guarenteed that someone will like it etc. When buying gold jewelry bare in mind that you probably wont make money if you sell it on.

Collectable gold coins are good because their content and gold quality are guaranteed. It will be easier to sell the coins as there is a specific market for them, and due to rareity or need to be added to a collection, it could become a hot cake.

If you are buying gold as an investment that should be liquid, will you easily be able to promise the quality and content of the gold? We have taken a look at jewelry, lets now look at what it is like to purchase gold stock, gold bars and gold bullion.
Gold stocks
Gold stocks are stocks in a gold mining company, so when you buy these, you are not actually buying the gold but investing in the company in itself. There are risks involved of course. No mining company can predict the exact amount of gold in the mine they are currently working, so if they all of a sudden run out, you are going to loose out.

Some people say the Doubling Stocks is a scam, well im not so sure, and I have a very interesting pick that I will post in it later, for you to judge yourselves.

Gold bars
Unless there is a high demand for gold from jewelers in your area, who want to make jewelry, it will be hard to sell gold bars. The reason for this is that the gold in gold bars doesn't bear a governmental guarantee of quality and quantity, while gold bullion does. Also it is expensive to pay for expert anaylasis to proove that the bar is solid gold, unless the person is a mug, if that is the case, ive got 10 bars for sale.

types of dog

There are many different types of dogs, with over 150 recognized breeds as well as many more different variants.

When choosing a dog it is important to examine your personal circumstance (e.g. home life, how much time available for the dog, children) and mesh them with a dog who has the appropriate temperament and requires the level of care that you can provide. Here are some questions to ask yourself before you choose your pet.

How much space do you have?
How much exercise and care time do you have for the dog
What size is good?
Where is the dog going to be living?
How much grooming do you want to do?
Do you have the experience to deal with a more challenging dog?
If you have children how will the dog be with them?

Dogs of the same genetic history are group into types, such as Molosser, Spitz etc. These dogs will tend to have similar characteristics, health issues and natures. All dogs are not the same, with the different types having very different life spans, characteristics, suitability to different conditions and more. Before you choose a dog, consider choosing a dog type!

Born after approximately 63 days of gestation, puppies emerge in an amnion which is bitten off and eaten by the mother dog. Puppies begin to nurse almost immediately. If the litter exceeds six puppies, particularly if one or more are obvious runts, human intervention in hand-feeding the stronger puppies is necessary to ensure that the runts get proper nourishment and attention from the mother. As they reach one month of age, puppies are gradually weaned and begin to eat solid food. The mother may regurgitate partially digested food for the puppies or might let them eat some of her solid food. By the age of about seven weeks, puppies no longer depend on nursing for food. Although they may continue trying to nurse, the mother dog usually refuses after this age, though she might let them occasionally nurse for comfort.

At first, puppies spend ninety percent of their time sleeping and the rest feeding. During their first two weeks, a puppy's senses all develop rapidly. Puppies open their eyes about nine to eleven days following birth. At first, the retina is poorly developed and their vision is poor. Puppies are not able to see as well as adult dogs. In addition, puppies' ears remain sealed until about thirteen to seventeen days after birth, after which they respond more actively to sounds. While between two to four weeks old, puppies usually begin to growl, bite, wag their tails, and bark.

Puppies develop very quickly during their first three months, particularly after their eyes and ears open and they are no longer completely dependent on their mother. Their coordination and strength improve, they spar with their litter-mates, and begin to explore the world outside the nest. They play wrestling, chase, dominance, and tug-of-war games.
